MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
National Junior Honor Society is an organization that recognizes
FIVE ideals:
citizenship, character, leadership, scholarship, and service.
The Western Hills Middle School chapter of The National Junior Honor Society is a duly chartered and affiliated chapter of this prestigious national organization. Membership is open to those students who meet the required standards in five areas of evaluation: citizenship, character, leadership, scholarship and service.
Students are selected for membership by majority vote of a five-member principal-appointed faculty council, which bestows this honor upon qualified students on behalf of the faculty of our school each year.
Students must participate in activities that show evidence of these criteria. Though some activities may be listed in both Citizenship/Service and Leadership, students may count them in one category only.
